Trainer Tony Gollan has put his faith in apprentice Priscilla Schmidt by booking her for Miss Leibert in the non-claiming $100,000 Listed Nudgee Quality (1200m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
Miss Leibert capped off a great summer when a neck second to top Sydney mare Driefontein in the Magic Millions Fillies and Mares Quality (1200m) on January 11.
Senior rider Bob El-Issa rode Miss Leibert and most thought Gollan would stick with him for Saturday's race.
However, El-Issa will now ride Gollan's other runner in the Nudgee, Tear It Up, a recent feature race winner in Toowoomba.
Schmidt will not be able to use her 2kg claim in the Nudgee Quality but Gollan said he had no qualms about booking her on Miss Leibert.
"Nothing against Bobby who rode Miss Leibert well at the Coast, but Priscilla would have ridden her there except she had to ride in Brisbane late that day," he said.
"Priscilla is riding well, she does a lot of work for us and the horse goes extra well for her. I have no worries putting her on," Gollan said.
Schmidt has been the form apprentice in Brisbane and won an open company staying race for Gollan with Bang On at Doomben last week.
"I recently got a 12 month extension on my apprenticeship. I lost a lot of time through injury and it gives me a chance to make up for lost time," Schmidt said.
"Tony and the other Eagle Farm trainers have been a great help to me coming back from injury," she said.
Schmidt has ridden Miss Leibert five times for three wins, a second and one unplaced run.
She expects the mare to race very well from the good barrier draw of four.
Meanwhile, Gollan confirmed he would split the "Boom Brothers" - Spirit Of Boom and Temple Of Boom - between Melbourne and Sydney this autumn.
Spirit Of Boom, who worked well this week, is being aimed at Melbourne's Group One Oakleigh Plate on February 22.
Temple Of Boom will go to Sydney for the autumn sprint races.
"Hopefully, it will be wet down there. It usually rains around their autumn carnival time and that will suit him," Gollan said.
