Kiss Me Ketut gets ready for Tas campaign

Stephen Theodore is planning a Tasmanian mission for Kiss Me Ketut but is hoping for Caulfield success beforehand.

The filly is the Cranbourne trainer's only starter on Saturday at Caulfield and lines up in the Carlton Draught Handicap (1400m).

Kiss Me Ketut strung together three wins before her last start third at Moonee Valley on December 28.

She's had a two-week freshen-up and her race on Saturday is a stepping stone towards her grand final - the Listed Tasmanian Oaks (2100m) in Launceston on February 19.

She is scheduled to contest the Strutt Stakes for fillies over the Oaks' distance in Hobart on February 9.

"If she was to dominate and win the (Tasmanian) Oaks we may send her on to the Oaks in Adelaide but she would want to come through the trip with flying colours or she will have earned herself a good rest," said Theodore.

Stablemate Road Trippin' is being aimed towards the weight-for-age Listed Thomas Lyons Stakes (1400m) in Hobart on February 9 and George Adams Plate (1600m) in Launceston on February 26.

"The George Adams would be his preferred race but he is an experienced traveller and it wouldn't surprise us to win over 1400m with him," he said.

But Don't Get Excited won't be getting on the plane for Hobart with Theodore opting to run him in next week's Listed WJ Adams Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield.

"We thought on his terrific run the other day he could measure up to the Adams Stakes and then his final will be the Listed Hareeba Stakes on Mornington Cup Day," said Theodore.
