BRISBANE Jan 31 AAP - Promising juvenile I Am Boss has Toowoomba trainer Tony Sears confident he will handle the jump to city grade at Doomben on Saturday.
I Am Boss comes into the Powerade Hcp (1110m) off a last start win in an Ipswich maiden on January 17.
Sears believes the Doomben race wasn't the usual big step up in class from a provincial Friday to a Saturday class two-year-old.
"It was an above average Friday race and there were a couple of very good horses in that race," he said.
"Star Drop who was third was placed in a lead-up race to the Magic Millions and Jumbo Prince who finished second is also handy."
Sears said I Am Boss was a big colt and having the topweight of 58kg at Doomben shouldn't worry him.
Top jockey Michael Cahill rode I Am Boss at Ipswich and has stuck with him for Saturday.
Favourite for the race is recent Doomben winner Sarisara who is raced by a group of friends from Brisbane's Tattersalls Club.
Sarisara was bred by Eureka Stud boss and former Tattersalls president Scott McAlpine who has high hopes the filly can give his sire Red Dazzler a boost.
