BRISBANE February 6 AAP - Secret Harmony's trainer Kelly Schweida hopes the three-year-old measures up to feature middle distance races after his next start at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Schweida has overcome one problem with Secret Harmony only to be confronted with another.

The Eagle Farm trainer has tackled the big weights being given Secret Harmony by booking leading apprentice Tegan Harrison in the Austcover Handicap (1600m).

It means Secret Harmony will carry 57kg, a drop of 2kg on his past two runs and he meets Hot Saga, who beat him last start, 3.5kg better.

Brisbane's metropolitan weight scale means the best-rated horse in a race must carry 59kg.

Secret Harmony's penalty handicap rating of 71.5 has seen him carry the top weight at his past two starts.

Both those runs have produced outstanding fourth placings when Secret Harmony came from well back in the field.

In his 10 starts Secret Harmony has been ridden by an apprentice only once when an unlucky second for the injured Aidan Holt.

Rick McMahon, who is in Melbourne on Saturday, and the injured Larry Cassidy have been his other riders.

Schweida pointed out Secret Harmony was being weighted on potential rather than his race record.

"He has won only two races and one of those was against older horses in a three three when he was first up. His past two runs have been great but it is hard for a young horse accelerate under 59 kilos," said Schweida, who is Melbourne bound on Saturday.

However, Schweida wasn't all smiles as Secret Harmony drew barrier 14 in a field of 16.

"We will have to ride him a bit closer and hope to get some cover," he said.

Meanwhile, rival trainer Rob Heathcote will stick with senior jockey Ryan Wiggins on his promising filly Sea Red.

Heathcote has put Sea Red's last start failure at Eagle Farm down to a wet track and he is confident she can bounce back to winning form.

A win for Sea Red is essential as Heathcote aims at getting her into winter carnival races such as the Doomben Roses and Queensland Oaks.
