The past two winners of the Melbourne Cup headline nominations for the Group Two Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield.

Reigning Melbourne Cup champion Fiorente is set to make his return in Saturday's 1800m Group Two weight-for-age event while 2012 Cup winner Green Moon is also among the 12 entries.

Fiorente's build-up has included a couple of race-day gallops in Sydney and a 1300m barrier trial.

The Gai Waterhouse-trained horse then headed to Melbourne and worked between races at Flemington on Saturday alongside three-year-old stablemate Bull Point, one of 11 nominations for Saturday's Group One Futurity Stakes (1400m).

Along with Fiorente and Green Moon, fellow Group One winners Foreteller, Bayrir, Gondokoro and Mourayan are nominated for the Peter Young Stakes, a traditional lead-up to the Group One Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington two weeks later.
