Full field for the Blue Diamond Stakes

Tuesday 18 February 2014, 10:29am

A full field of 16 plus one emergency has been declared for Saturday's Group One Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield.

The field is headed by unbeaten colt Rubick and unbeaten filly Earthquake who were both impressive winning their respective Blue Diamond Preludes on February 8.

Trainer Robbie Laing paid up for two-year-old Boomwaa who is set to back up after his unplaced effort against older horses in the Group One Lightning Stakes on Saturday.

There are four trainers - Peter Snowden, Gai Waterhouse, Mick Price and Laing - with two runners in the $1 million event for two-year-olds.

Waterhouse, who is chasing her first Blue Diamond win, has unbeaten filly Nayeli and the colt Francesco in the field.

The Jerome Hunter-trained Statue Of Warriors is the emergency.
