A dominant win in the Silver Slipper has continued the rise of unbeaten filly Mossfun through the two-year-old ranks.

Markets reacted to Saturday's win at Rosehill with Mossfun, trained by the Hawkes family partnership, now second favourite for the $3.5 million Golden Slipper behind Earthquake.

Her breeding suggested she would handle the wet track of the Silver Slipper (1100m) and she proved more than adept, racing clear in the straight to live up to her $2.90 favouritism.

Press Report ($51) belied her price to finish the best of the rest, four lengths from the winner.

Co-trainer Michael Hawkes said Mossfun could go to the Slipper (1200m) without another start.

"I've always loved this filly and she smashed them," Hawkes said.

"From day one she just kept improving.

"Some people under-rated her on the Inglis Nursery win but she is exposed now.

"There is no decision on whether she will have another start before the Slipper. She may go straight there.

"She is an athlete and may not need to run again."

Risen From Doubt finished a neck behind the runner-up with Law and Unencumbered fourth and fifth respectively after struggling in the slow ground.

The trio all drifted in Golden Slipper betting.

Nash Rawiller said Breeders' Plate winner Law was uncomfortable in the wet while Nathan Berry, who flew home from Singapore to ride Unencumbered, had a similar tale of woe.

"He travelled well but just didn't let down in the ground when I asked him to," Berry said.

"I just hope we get firm ground for the Slipper."

Mossfun was one of just two yearlings Dubai's Nasser Lootah bought at last year's Easter Sale.

The Mossman filly cost $85,000, a fraction of what her stablemate, the as yet unraced $4 million colt Emaratee, fetched.

Hawkes said a program for Emaratee had yet to be determined.
