Hana's Goal arrives safely in Sydney

Monday 3 March 2014, 4:09pm

Japanese raider Hana's Goal has settled in at Randwick where she will be prepared for Group One racing at the track next month.

A dual Group Three winner in Japan, the mare is nominated for both the $3 million Doncaster Mile on April 12 and the $1 million Queen of the Turf Stakes a week later.

Hana's Goal left the Werribee quarantine centre near Melbourne on Saturday evening and arrived at John O'Shea's Randwick complex early on Sunday morning.

Racing NSW international liaison manager, Maurice Logue, said the dual Group Three-winning mare had travelled well.

"She arrived at Randwick in great shape," Logue said.

"She was sweating quite a bit when she came off the plane a couple of weeks back but she was much better during the journey by float. She barely moved during the entire trip.

"She is looking really good now and is settled. I've really noticed the difference. The winter coat she had when she arrived has virtually gone and she looks a picture of health.

"She has been doing a bit of walking since arriving but the mare will start the serious stuff in the morning. The team said they will be giving Hana's Goal a solid hit-out tomorrow and again on Saturday."

Hana's Goal last raced in December when third to Archimedes and Kawakita Fujin in the Group Three Asahi Challenge at Hanshin.

Her travelling companion, maiden galloper Hana's Fifty, is likely to have a start at Wyong or Newcastle.
