Heart Of Many's win a boost for business

Wednesday 5 March 2014, 5:27pm

The loudest cheer for Heart Of Many's win at Eagle Farm on Wednesday came from official on-course photographer Grant Peters.

It was little wonder because Heart Of Many has 800 owners and each of them is a potential buyer for the photograph of the finish of the Landfill Logistic Handicap (1500m).

About 35 of the horse's owners were on hand to see him win which was enough to fill the after-race winner's entertainment area provided by the Brisbane Race Club.

Heart of Many ($3.20) is a Hancox Racing horse and was syndicated by Melbourne racing personality Shelley Hancox who offered shares to owners from all over Australia.

Trainer Barry Baldwin believes Heart Of Many can go on to win more races in Saturday class.

"This race fitted in with his program but he will go back to Saturday races over 1600 metres or further," Baldwin said.

Meanwhile, improved mare Gala Affair ($5) is also headed for Saturday class after she made it three wins in a row in the Glenlogan Park Stud Handicap (1200m).

"The addition of blinkers has really made a difference. She was getting too far back in her races and having no luck," trainer Lindsay Gough said.

Winning jockey Anthony Allen completed a good day for part-owner Michael Bliss who also owned first race winner Warrior Sky.

In a twist Allen was the jockey of Beldan who lost the race on protest to Warrior Sky.

Trainer Kelly Schweida had no excuses after odds-on favourite Tiger Dimejan ($1.60) was beaten into third place in the Jim Beam Handicap (1000m).

The race went to consistent Katzenpfoetchen ($7) who stormed down the outside to beat Beaufort Gyre ($10) by 1-1/4 lengths with a half length to Tiger Dimejan.
