Alpha Miss looks likely to contest the Golden Slipper with her owners set to pay a late entry fee into next month's race.
Trained by Gary Nickson, Alpha Miss isn't nominated for the Golden Slipper but her Lonhro Plate win on Saturday moved connections closer towards parting with $150,000 to give her a shot at the $3.5 million race.
"Looks like 99 per cent they're going to pay up," Nickson said.
He said Alpha Miss' performance in the Reisling Stakes at Rosehill on March 22 would be the deciding factor.
"If she runs in the first four or five and gets that prize money, plus what she got last week, that should be enough," he said.
Nickson reported the $6000 weanling buy had recovered well after Saturday's win over Memorial.
"I'm not saying we can win the Slipper, but if the fancied ones do something wrong or draw bad, she'll be right there," Nickson said.
