Mourners gather for funeral of top jockey

Racing fans and industry figures have gathered at Flemington Racecourse to farewell Roy Higgins.

The champion jockey died on Saturday aged 75.

Higgins was one of only four Australasian jockeys to ride 100 Group One winners including two Melbourne Cups for Bart Cummings.

Jockeys Damien Oliver and Gary Willetts will share their memories of Higgins who will be taken on one last lap of the famous track led by Melbourne Cup winners Rogan Josh, Brew and Subzero.

The handlers of Rogan Josh and Brew will be dressed in the colours of Higgins' Cup winners Light Fingers and Red Handed.
