Trainer Guy Walter took the bold step of backing up a pair of PROVEN gallopers at Goulburn on Friday within a week of their previous runs. And it worked a treat! IMPRESSIVE YIELD, crying out for a longer journey after being run off his feet over 1200m at Canberra on Black Opal Stakes Day, headed back to Goulburn five days later stepping up to 1600m. Ridden a treat by Blake Shinn the DANZERO 4yo careered away from his rivals to win the C2 by 3 lengths, lumping 59kg in the process. 

Two races later, HIGH CHAPARRAL 3yo filly HIGH HARMONY made a lie of her very moderate run at Newcastle by winning the 1400m Maiden easily. After missing the start Shinn sooled her forward and despite being very green even with the addition of blinkers, she had far too much on her rivals eventually putting almost 3 lengths on her nearest challenger. Trainer Guy Walter has had a very healthy opinion of this filly for some time so to see her break through at just her third run, albeit a Goulburn Maiden, was very encouraging. 

Both gallopers will have a well earned easy weekend before Guy finds another race for them. With 8 wins since JAN 1, the PROVEN team has begun 2014 in style.
