Promising provincial-based apprentice Travis Wolfgram will make his first full day's appearance at a Saturday metropolitan meeting with a book of top rides at Eagle Farm.

Wolfgram, who claims 3kg in metropolitan races, has ridden 39 winners overall this season, 22 of those at the Gold Coast where he is seven wins clear in the jockeys' premiership.

He rode a double at the provincial-standard meeting at Eagle Farm last Saturday then won on Lightfeet Lady at Doomben on Wednesday.

Wolfgram's manager Melissa Shield said the in-form young rider had set a goal to win the Gold Coast jockeys' premiership before focusing on establishing himself in the city next season.

"But we got offered so many good rides in town this week it was impossible not to accept them," Shield said.

"Travis has had a couple of rides in the city on Saturday but this will be his first full day there."

Shield said Wolfgram was keen to continue riding at the Gold Coast but was also prepared to make trips to Brisbane for quality mounts.

"A few of the other city-standard apprentices have lost their three kilogram claim so there is a niche there for Travis," she said.

Wolfgram will ride two top chances for leading trainer Tony Gollan, Listen Son in the Mount Franklin Sparkling Handicap (1500m) and The Storeman in the Coca Cola Amatil Handicap (1200m).

He has also picked up the mount on Doctor David for the Meagher training partnership in the Mount Franklin Handicap (1400m) and Quick Witted for Toby Edmonds in the Makers Mark Handicap (1600m).

"When you get a chance to ride for leading trainers such as the Meaghers, Mr Gollan and Mr Edmonds you have to make the most of it," Wolfgram said.

Wolfgram is apprenticed to his mother, trainer Tracey Wolfgram.

His father Philip rode former top sprinter General Nediym to his first two wins at Eagle Farm in 1996.
