Michael Walker has been fined over comments he made on a television program following his New Zealand Derby win.
Walker travelled to New Zealand on Thursday to front the Judicial Control Authority (JCA) after telling Sky Racing's `Off The Rails' program he may have misled stewards to ensure he was able to ride Puccini in the New Zealand Derby on March 1.
The JCA fined Walker $NZ7000 for the remarks which it said were detrimental to racing.
It also stripped him of another $NZ5000 in costs to be divided between the JCA and Racing New Zealand's integrity unit.
The decision leaves Walker free to ride Puccini in Saturday's Group One Rosehill Guineas in Sydney.
Walker will also partner Desert Jeuney for Victorian trainer Nigel Blackiston in the Group Three NE Manion Cup and Unknown Destiny in the Group Two Magic Night Stakes.
