Honest stayer Margins is back from Sydney and set to help young trainer Ben Currie continue his push towards Brisbane's top 10 trainers.

Currie has trained 42 winners on all tracks this season and for a strike rate of 19.2 per cent.

He has been aiming most of his team at provincial and country tracks with the occasional visit to the city.

"We set a plan to win the Toowoomba trainer's premiership this season and we are leading in it," Currie said.

"From there we hope to expand into more visits to the city and hopefully we can push into the top ten trainers within a few years."

Margins lines up against in Saturday's Brazilian Beauty Handicap (2100m) at Doomben with promising apprentice Luke Tarrant on board.

The horse has won once and been placed once on wet tracks with ran in south east Queensland during the week putting the ground into the heaviest category.

Currie has already tasted black-type success with Rothera who won three feature races for him in 2010 before being transferred to Peter Moody in Melbourne.

Margins has also proven to be a good performer by winning six races for Currie and the gelding's owner, Toowoomba dentist Kim McCasker.

His last start was in the Randwick City Stakes (2000m) in March where he finished fifth behind Junoob.

"We thought we would give Sydney a try and he was far from disgraced," Currie said.

"But he isn't going to beat Junoob in anything else so we decided to come home."

The gelding has been dogged with leg problems throughout his career.

"He has had plenty of problems with his legs so it is a case of we can't plan too far ahead," Currie explained.

Currie says if Margins stays sound, this winter's Brisbane Cup (2400m) might be an option.
