Michael Owen's Brown Panther could make his race return in next month's Yorkshire Cup.
Last seen when eighth in the Melbourne Cup, the Tom Dascombe-trained six-year-old is likely to be a major player in all the Cup races this season.
"I'm very happy with Brown Panther. We gave him a bit of time when he came back from Australia and he looks and seems in good form at this stage," Dascombe said.
"We haven't decided where he will start of this season yet but the Yorkshire Cup is an option for him.
"He is versatile regarding distance - a mile and six furlongs (2800m) up to two miles (3200m) is fine for him."
Brown Panther earned his trip to Australia with victory in the Group Two Goodwood Cup in August last year.
Owen, the former England striker, is the co-owner of Manor House stables along with Dascombe and businessman Andrew Black.
