All is in readiness for triple Group One winner Sea Siren to represent Australia in the International Sprint in Hong Kong next month.

Trainer John O'Shea said the mare had come through in fine shape from her second to Mental in Saturday's Patinack Farm Classic (1200m) at Flemington to keep the Hong Kong dream alive.

"She's pulled up really well," O'Shea said.

"I was very happy with her run yesterday. There's obviously not a great deal between her and Mental and he just had the better run.

"I think the tactics on Buffering surprised everybody. It meant we ended up with no cover and had to be exposed a bit early."

Buffering stayed on the grandstand side of the straight course instead of crossing over to the join the rest of the field.

He had also been in line for a trip to Hong Kong but was found to be lame in his off hind leg after finishing eighth of the 15 runners and will now be sent for a spell.

The Peter Snowden-trained Mental, second to Sea Siren in the Manikato Stakes, will leave Darley to join his owner Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin team in Dubai before heading to England next year.

European stayer My Quest for Peace could also head to Hong Kong for the December 9 International meeting, ruling him out of the Sandown meeting next weekend.

Co-owner Terry Henderson told Racing Victoria, OTI Racing was hoping for an invitation to the Vase (2400m).

"We'll nominate him (for Sandown) but ideally we'd like an invitation to run in the Hong Kong Vase," Henderson said.

My Quest For Peace lost a shoe during the Melbourne Cup in which he finished 10th but Henderson said the pace of the race was against him.

"Unfortunately he lost a shoe ... but to what extent that impacted his run I don't know, Henderson said.

"He'll be much better suited off a more genuine tempo which is usually assured in Hong Kong."

Henderson said OTI was likely to run Ibicenco at Sandown next week with the five-year-old to be entered for both the Zipping Classic (2400m) and Sandown Cup (3200m).
