Racing Queensland has been forced to do a back flip and include Eagle Farm in its schedule for the 2014-2015 racing season.
RQ and the Brisbane Race Club had hoped to shut Eagle Farm in July from until April 2015.
A dates schedule was drawn up without racing at Eagle Farm during that period, using Doomben for most Saturday racing with midweek racing at Caloundra, Gold Coast and Ipswich.
The plan was a for a much-needed revamp of the Eagle Farm course proper which has been the subject of much criticism in recent years.
However, the revamp could not go ahead without state government support which had not been ratified when the dates were due out last Monday.
Despite hopes of a last-minute change, RQ needed to release the race dates by Friday.
Racing Queensland CEO Darren Condon said the Eagle Farm track reconstruction remained "a work in progress".
In a media release on Friday RQ said: "It is important to note there are a number of industry infrastructure projects currently under review by the industry and government.
"Approval of these projects will affect the scheduling and location of some race meetings."
