Queensland racing's new dynamic duo, Kiss Me Deadly and apprentice Ruby Ride, stuck to a winning formula to score again at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

For the third straight time in recent weeks, Ride and Kiss Me Deadly ($4.40) led all of the way when they beat favourite Lady Echelon ($2.25) by a half neck in the Premier Fire Open (1600m).

Kiss Me Deadly was originally trained by Rex Lipp, but has found a new lease of life since switching to fellow Toowoomba trainer Matt Kropp's stables in December.

The gelding is raced by a group of western Queensland gas field workers who were noticeable by their absence on Saturday.

A big group of owners and supporters had cheered home Kiss Me Deadly at his two previous wins, but things were more sedate on Saturday.

"Most of the owners are on shiftwork at the moment, but I am sure they will be celebrating soon," Kropp said.

Since changing stables he has won nearly $100,000 in prize money.

Kropp, who has had 11 winners on all tracks since the start of March, said he had no big plans for Kiss Me Deadly other than to hope for more rain.

Ride scored her seventh metropolitan win on Kiss Me Deadly and it was her third city victory in a week.

"The key to Kiss Me Deadly is to just let him roll along and get comfortable," said Ride, who was distressed and stood down after the win.
