Two Blue has continued a remarkable season for Kristen Buchanan and the best could be yet to come.
Buchanan prepares a small string at Wyong on the NSW Central Coast and the mare's victory in Saturday's BMW Handicap (1200m) at Randwick gave the trainer her fifth city win this season.
"It has been amazing. You've just got to enjoy it when it's happening and try to hang on to it," she said.
Buchanan juggles her role as trainer with that of mum to her almost one-year-old Mackenzie Rose, who has been her good luck charm throughout the season and was again on hand for Saturday's win.
Ridden by Damien Oliver, Two Blue ($6.50) settled midfield and pounced late to deny another swooper, You'll Never ($12) by a half head with Mount Nebo ($11) the same margin away third.
Buchanan said Two Blue was 80 per cent fit for her first-up assignment and her win would cause a rejig of plans.
"I did have another benchmark race picked out, but she won't be able to run in that now," she said.
"We will look at the Dark Jewel at Scone and use that as a springboard.
"Ultimately I'd love to have a go at the (Tatt's) Tiara."
The Group One Tatt's Tiara is at Eagle Farm on June 21.
