The aptly-named Miss France has given master French trainer Andre Fabre his first English 1000 Guineas.
Ridden by Maxime Guyon, the 7-1 chance held off Lightning Thunder (14-1) and Ihtimal, with heavily-supported 9-2 favourite Tapestry unplaced in Sunday's Classic.
Fabre, a 25-time champion trainer in France, added to his success in the other Classic run at the home of British racing, the 2000 Guineas which he claimed with Pennekamp in 1995 and Zafonic two years earlier.
Miss France, a winner at Newmarket last season, had been beaten on her Guineas warm-up last month but was given a confident ride by Guyon.
Always up with the leaders she hit the front as the ground began to rise towards the post to hold off her pursuers in style.
The third French-trained winner of the fillies' Classic in the past seven years, she first had to deal with Ihtimal's challenge and then the late surge of the eventual runner-up.
"It was the opposite of how I wanted her to be ridden, but it worked," Fabre told Channel 4.
"This means a lot, I trained the dam of the filly and I could not be more delighted.
"I was a bit perturbed when she hit the front so early as she idles."
Fabre said Miss France would return home to run in the Prix Diane, the French Oaks, in preference to the English equivalent.
