Snowden partnership produces first winner

Tuesday 13 May 2014, 5:33pm

Peter Snowden has claimed much bigger wins as a trainer but a restricted-race victory at Hawkesbury on Tuesday will still be one he and his son Paul will always remember.

Tumult's success in the Blakes Marine Handicap at the provincial NSW track gave the Snowdens the first win for their newly formed training partnership.

Peter and Paul Snowden began their partnership last Sunday after Peter finished up with Darley having been head trainer for Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Australia racing operation since 2008.

Tumult, a former Darley galloper, delivered the milestone win.

"It's good to get that first one up," Peter Snowden said.

"I got the monkey off my back. It might be small but it's good for us.

"I'm really pleased and pleased for the team. It's our first one and let's hope it's one of many."
