A pleasing gallop in Brisbane on Tuesday has class mare Streama ready to try to add to her Group One tally in the Doomben Cup.
Sydney jockey Blake Shinn made the trip to Brisbane to partner the last-start Hollindale Stakes winner in a workout on the Doomben course proper ahead of the 2000-metre weight-for-age race.
Trainer Guy Walter said both he and the jockey are delighted with the mare's condition ahead of her attempt at a fourth Group One win.
"She worked really nicely and pulled up well and we were very happy," Walter said.
Shinn won last year's George Main Stakes on the five-year-old and has been aboard in her two most recent starts including the half-length Hollindale Stakes win at the Gold Coast last Saturday week.
"He (Shinn) said she felt very good," Walter said.
Streama shared TAB favouritism at $3.50 with last-start Hawkesbury Cup winner Leebaz on Tuesday.
Streama defeated Mr O'Ceirin last start but jockey Glen Boss is hoping to turn the tables on Saturday.
"He was really good (in the Hollindale)," Boss said of Mr O'Ceirin.
"He was a bit vunerable as you would expect, second-up on a heavy track, but I thought he was really brave."
