Prominent jockey Chris Munce has declared his fitness for the remainder of the Brisbane winter carnival despite suffering a foot injury in a barrier incident.
Munce's left foot was jammed against the uprights when his mount Kentucky Woman reared up in the barriers before Saturday's Glenlogan Park Stakes.
After receiving treatment Munce rode Kentucky Woman who was unplaced in the Group Three race won by Srikandi.
Munce was stood down for the rest of the day and went home to get further treatment.
"It is swollen but the doctor said there isn't much you can do about it," Munce said.
"I will be right to ride this week."
"At one stage I had no feeling in my foot and I thought `oh no'. But then I got it back and was to ride on."
Fellow jockey Tye Angland is set to continue his successful homecoming from Hong Kong this week.
Angland, who spent four years in Hong Kong, won the Group Two BRC Sires' Produce Stakes on Time For War.
He will replace New Zealand jockey Leith Innes on Rock Diva in the Queensland Oaks on Saturday and is in the mix to ride Sacred Star in the QTC Cup on Saturday's Oaks day program at Eagle Farm.
Sacred Star would need to get 54kg in the race to be within Angland's weight range.
Both horses are trained by New Zealander Tony Pike who will use Vin Colgan aboard his other promising filly Sancerre in the Oaks.
Innes has returned to New Zealand after reportedly receiving facial injuries in an incident in Brisbane last week.
