The much-travelled Gatewood has won the Listed Tapster Stakes at Goodwood to prompt thoughts of a return to Australia.
The winner of the 2012 Geelong Cup failed to make get enough weight to make the Melbourne Cup field that year.
Owned by Terry Henderson and Simon O'Donnell's OTI Racing in partnership with George Strawbridge, Gatewood remained in Australia with Chris Waller for a four start autumn campaign but failed to adapt.
He was returned to John Gosden and Saturday's Listed win came on the back of a victory at Ascot two weeks earlier.
Kelinni, who ran fourth in the 2012 Melbourne Cup for Waller, also returned to Europe after last spring, and was third to Gatewood for trainer Marco Botti.
After a roughly run race and a stewards' inquiry, the result remained but Gatewood's jockey Frankie Dettori was suspended for four days for careless riding and allowing the horse to drift out.
Henderson will discuss options for Gatewood with Strawbridge when he attends next month's Royal Ascot meeting.
