Belle Couture's career is on hold again after Black Caviar's half-sister tore her near hind hamstring when unplaced at her most recent start at Flemington.
The three-year-old looked a filly of immense promise when she won first-up at Caulfield on Easter Monday but failed in her two subsequent starts at Flemington.
The $2.6 million yearling purchase finished last on slow ground on May 10 before beating one runner home in last Saturday's Trevor Clarke Handicap.
However, Belle Couture's trainer Danny O'Brien told Racing Victoria the Redoute's Choice filly needed time in the spelling paddock to recover from the serious injury.
"There's significant soft tissue damage so she'll need eight to ten weeks in the paddock," O'Brien said.
"It's just like when a footballer tears a hamstring. You never want to come back too early and run the risk of re-doing it so she'll have a good rest and we'll take it from there."
O'Brien said connections had no plans to retire the rising four-year-old.
