Wendy Walter has claimed her first winners as a trainer, leading in an emotional double at Goulburn on Monday.
Walter's husband, popular trainer Guy Walter, died suddenly last Thursday week and his wife has taken over the running of the stables at Warwick Farm and Goulburn for the time being.
Anecdote, who races in the green and black colours of the late trainer's brother and syndicator Jamie Walter, won the opening race on the program from his stablemate Doubos who sports the red and white of the Tait family.
The Taits owned Guy Walter's champion, 13-time Group One winner Tie The Knot.
The club produced commemorative racebooks featuring a cover photo of Walter, who had won the past five premierships at the track, and held a minute's silence after the first race.
Stable jockey Blake Shinn rode Anecdote and partnered Splash Out to win the final race on the program.
