Three jockeys taken to hospital after fall

Sunday 8 June 2014, 6:31pm

A day after winning the Queensland Derby on Sonntag, Chad Schofield was one of three jockeys taken to hospital after a three-horse fall at Cranbourne.

All three - Steven Arnold, Schofield and apprentice Ben Thompson - were all conscious and moving their limbs before being transported to Dandenong Hospital on Sunday.

Schofield was placed in a neck brace as a precaution and was complaining of a sore leg.

Arnold and Thompson, both of whom momentarily lost consciousness, were suffering the effects of concussion.

Schofield's mount, Made of Ice, had to be euthanised after injuring his leg but the other two horses were unharmed.
