Trevor Thomas has no worries about the failure of his promising mare Ellawisdom on the unsuitable Ipswich track at her last start.
Ellawisdom will be back on her home track when she tackles the Listed Glasshouse Mountain Sprint (1400m) at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
She came from last to win the Eagle Farm Bright Shadow Stakes (1200m) two runs back but was then only 10th in the Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich two weeks ago.
The Ipswich run was all about getting the mare primed for the Glasshouse which is the race the Sunshine Coast trainer always had in mind for Ellawisdom.
"The big Sunshine Coast straight and the softer track will suit her," he said.
"She likes to get back and run home strongly in the straight. It isn't the type of race style which suits the smaller tracks like Ipswich but she needed to run."
Ellawisdom has won on all types of tracks but the prospect of rain affected going should be a boost for her.
Meanwhile, trainer Kelly Schweida has reverted to a senior jockey to ride Agitate in the Summerveld Racing Stables Hcp (1000m) with Damian Browne on board.
Apprentices have ridden Agitate at his most recent starts when run down and finishing second over 1200m.
"No one rides Caloundra better than Damian so he is worth a few kilos and they will give the rest something to catch," he said.
Schweida should know the fate of his star galloper Cape Kidnappers after the gelding has x-rays on a troublesome leg on Friday.
"We will probably know the full result Sunday or Monday but I reckon he will be out until at least early next year," he said.
