A dominant win from Alma's Fury in the Listed Glasshouse Handicap will see leading trainer Tony Gollan facing some tough decisions when he returns from his honeymoon.

Ridden a perfect race by Jim Byrne, Alma's Fury ($4.60 fav) scored by 1-3/4 lengths to Spitfire Lady ($18) with a head to Back Cash ($6.50) in the 1400m contest at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

It was Alma's Fury's second consecutive Listed win after he took the Eye Liner Stakes at Ipswich two weeks ago.

Therein lies Gollan's problem because Alma's Fury will now be very hard to place in Queensland having won with 59kgs and then 59.5 kgs.

Gollan increased his lead in the trainers' premiership to eight over Matt Dunn, with his 53rd win for the season with Alma's Fury's win.

The Eagle Farm trainer is currently honeymooning in Queenstown, New Zealand, and will be home on Monday.

Stable foreman John Fleming said the future of Alma's Fury in Queensland would be up to Gollan and the connections.

"He will be hard to place at the weights and they might want to take him back south. But he has done very well with us so you they might stay here," he said.

Alma's Fury was sent to Gollan after losing form in Sydney following a win in the Group Two Apollo Stakes last year.

"Alma's Fury has really bloomed here. I wouldn't say he was better than when he won the Eye Liner but his coat has come out," Fleming said.

The gelding has now won eight races and more than $800,000 in prize money.

Gollan has had a wonderful winter winning eight black-type races and more than $1.3 million in prize money.

He's also produced 10 black-type winners for the season.

Byrne, who was also aboard for the Eye Liner win, was delighted with the performance.

"We got into a good position and it was then only a matter of getting a break. He really put a gap in them quickly," Byrne said.
