Group One-winning trainer Wez Hunter will face a Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board hearing in Melbourne over a positive swab returned by one of his runners.
A prohibited substance Betamethasone, a corticosteroid, was detected in a pre-race urine sample taken from the Hunter-trained Kentucky Dreaming at Mornington on April 5.
Kentucky Dreaming finished last in the 1520-m race.
Racing Victoria stewards on Tuesday issued Hunter with a charge in relation to the prohibited substance being detected in Kentucky Dreaming's sample and another for failing to keep proper treatment records.
A date for the RAD Board hearing is yet to be fixed.
Hunter has enjoyed big-race success this season with stable star Smokin' Joey winning the Group One Goodwood in Adelaide.
