Classy mare Vain Queen will be racing for more than just the lion's share of $150,000 prize money in the Listed All Victorian Sprint Series Final.
Unbeaten at Flemington from three starts, the John Sadler-trained Vain Queen is chasing a first stakes win on Saturday to boost her future broodmare value.
"It's super important," Sadler said.
"It's probably a $90,000 cheque but it's a hell of a lot more money than that as far as her value is concerned if she is able to win it."
Sadler had hoped to target last month's Group One Tatt's Tiara in Queensland with Vain Queen but her two defeats from as many starts after a long lay-off forced him to shelve those plans.
The four-year-old got her campaign back on track with a win at Moonee Valley two starts ago and was then impressive winning an 1100m open handicap by 3-3/4 lengths at Flemington on June 28.
It took her record to six wins from eight starts and has her poised for her first shot at a stakes win.
"She is going to carry quite a bit more weight on Saturday because she has had apprentices' claims in her last two wins," Sadler said.
"But she's three from three up the straight so if she takes her A-game there she's going to be a very good chance of winning."
Vain Queen will be reunited with senior jockey Glen Boss who has two wins from two rides on the daughter of Artie Schiller.
If Vain Queen is successful on Saturday Sadler is likely to freshen her for the Group Three Cockram Stakes at the end of next month.
Sadler is also set to be represented on `Finals Day' at Flemington by Henwood in the Listed Winter Championship Final (1600m).
A Flemington winner in May, Henwood has finished fifth in his two starts since and Sadler hopes he can produce a career-best on Saturday.
"I couldn't be happier with him," Sadler said.
"He's in a really good space at the moment and he has been set for this race. He's going to need to run his career best race to win it. At the moment he's heading towards perhaps doing that."
