Classic winners don't always carry their staying form into their four-year-old seasons but trainer John Sargent believes Kirramosa is one who will.
Kirramosa's VRC Oaks win in the spring erased any doubts Sargent had about her stamina but injury robbed the filly of the chance to prove it again in the ATC Oaks in the autumn.
A track gallop at Randwick on Saturday reassured her trainer Kirramosa had fully recovered from an operation to remove a bone chip from a fetlock.
Sargent said the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups were the targets but he would be guided by her early season racing.
"I think she is a genuine stayer for the Cups but sometimes they don't take that step as four-year-olds," Sargent said.
"She will start off in the Missile Stakes and step up in distance from there.
"The Epsom Handicap over 1600 metres could also be an option."
Kirramosa is from the first crop by Alamosa, a Group One winner of the 2008 Toorak Handicap, and is out of an unraced mare by Danske, also a Group One winner over 1600 metres.
The winner of two races over 1200m, Kirramosa earned favouritism for the VRC Oaks with her victory in the Wakeful (2000m) on November 2, five days before she edged out Zanbagh in the Group One over 2500m.
Zanbagh also finished second in the ATC Oaks, this time behind Rising Romance.
Tommy Berry, who rode Kirramosa to win the Wakeful before Nash Rawiller jumped on for the Oaks, was aboard in her track gallop.
"She pulled up like she hadn't been around," Berry said.
"She is in great order."
The Group Two Missile Stakes (1200m) is on August 9 while the Group One Epsom is on October 4, two weeks before the Caulfield Cup.
