Premier Sydney trainer Chris Waller has welcomed Damien Oliver's return to Melbourne by booking him for three mounts at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
Oliver has not ridden in Melbourne since early June and finished his season with a successful stint riding in Mauritius.
He missed the last two months of the season but still managed to win his ninth Melbourne jockeys' premiership with 59 victories.
Waller has booked Oliver to ride Saturday's Caulfield placegetter Bagman in the 2040-metre Open Handicap and Mulaqen in the Benchmark 90 Handicap over 2500 metres.
Oliver will also partner Acapela for Waller when she steps out in the Benchmark 90 Handicap for mares.
Moe trainer Peter Gelagotis has secured Oliver's services for Illustrious Lad for his first outing as a three-year-old in Benchmark 78 company.
Illustrious Lad won in Adelaide on debut but pulled up sore when last in Group Three company at Caulfield in February.
