Risk Aversion will have only a brief summer campaign but more ambitious goals will be on her agenda in the autumn.

Trainer Michael Lakey is satisfied he made the correct call to shelve a Sydney trip during the spring to enable Risk Aversion to spend more time in the spelling paddock.

"There were a couple of suitable races in Sydney for her but in the end I felt a little bit longer in the paddock was a better option," he said.

"The long term goal is to aim her at the Coolmore Classic in Sydney during the autumn carnival."

Risk Aversion has impressed Lakey with her performances in two barrier trials this preparation with regular rider Chris Munce aboard.

"In her first trial at Doomben they went a bit quick for her early but in the last 50 metres she really flattened out and pulled half a dozen lengths off the leaders without Chris doing anything on her," he said.

"They ran quick time when she trialled at Deagon and it's really tightened up her condition.

"Chris gave her a glowing report when he jumped off her."

The winner of five of her 10 starts, Risk Aversion claimed her biggest race so far when she took out the Listed Juanmo Stakes in April and proved she belonged in the top grade with her sixth, beaten just 1-1/4 lengths, in the Group One Tattersalls Tiara in June.

She will resume racing at Eagle Farm on Saturday in a Listed 1200m race for fillies and mares.

The mare's only other target during the summer is likely to be Lough Neagh Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on December 22 before Lakey gives her another ease-up before her Coolmore preparation.

Talented stablemate Gypsy Pearl, who made rapid progress last campaign winning three of her four starts, is likely to resume racing during the Christmas-New Year holiday period.
