All The Talk held on to win the opening race at Warwick Farm on Saturday but that didn't stop the trainer of the runner-up Napayshini from making a bold prediction about his horse's future.
The Grant Allard-trained Napayshini ($8) missed the start to be a clear last early in the Warwick Farm Plate (1000m) before flashing home to get within a long head of All The Talk.
"(He'll) win the (Golden) Slipper," Allard said as he stood waiting for Napayshini to return to scale.
"He's the best horse I've ever trained from day one.
"He missed the start but we'll rectify that before he comes back here (to Warwick Farm) for the Inglis Nursery in three weeks.
"He's a good horse and there's so much to learn still."
Gary Portelli had already said his youngster All The Talk ($8) was a potential Golden Slipper runner and race experience showed as the colt worked to find the front and then held his rivals in the straight in his second start.
Favourite Let's Frolic ($2.45) challenged All The Talk in the straight but had the settle for third as Napayshini hit the line strongly late.
Portelli said All The Talk would head to the paddock and bypass the $250,000 Inglis Nursery in preference for an autumn campaign aimed at qualifying for the Golden Slipper.
"He had to be used up to get across and then he got to the fence and that was where he won the race I think," Portelli said.
"With these two-year-olds it's nice to have the rail to follow and we were pretty confident going into the race today and I was surprised he was the price he was."
Portelli expects the colt to improve with a spell and said he would need to if he was to make it to the Golden Slipper.
