Poste Restante will have blinkers back on when she contests the Summer Cup.
Jockey Michael Cahill said Poste Restante, the $1.60 favourite, lost concentration in the final stages at Eagle Farm on Saturday, allowing runner-up Trajet ($4.60) to reduce the winning margin in the TRC Celebration Season Handicap (2118m) to only a half head.
"She did a similar thing when she won her previous start here and I think she needs the blinkers to go back on," he said.
"In my mind she's up to Group company. Certainly Group Three or Group Two standard in staying races.
"I just would've liked to see her finish it off better."
Trainer Desleigh Forster believes the three-and-a-half weeks break until the Summer Cup (2400m) at Randwick on Boxing Day will suit Poste Restante.
Earlier, Michael Nolan says he won't be tempted to extend Sister Magic's campaign after she landed a plunge to win the Hamilton Hotel Handicap.
Backed from $3.10 into $2.20 favouritism, Sister Magic was challenged strongly more than once in the straight but fought back to win by a head from the fast-finishing Londehero ($5).
Sister Magic is not a Magic Millions graduate, making Nolan's decision to spell the filly an easy one.
"We were always going to spell her after today because she's been in work a long time," he said.
"I'll give her six to eight weeks in the paddock then I'll look at her and see how she develops before seeing what options are available for her."
