This outstanding MOSSMAN colt is physically built very similar to MOSSMAN himself who was a superior Group 1 winning racehorse and combines his strong athletic build with the above mentioned family genetics. MOSSMAN (AUS)

MOSSMAN was one of the best of his generation on the track - a very important element when assessing a stallion. He was a Group 1 winning juvenile and racked up nearly $1million in prizemoney, all of which was achieved as a 2yo & 3yo.

It comes as no surprise that MOSSMAN gets high quality runners. Most of his runners to date (e.g. PURE ENERGY, OUR SWEET MOSS, SEGMENTS, MOSSTANG, OUR MOSSTIQUE, etc) have come from small limited books of mares due to his original owner's breeding philosophy. The high majority of stallions cannot produce the type of results that MOSSMAN has with the limited books, however MOSSMAN'S results as a stallion have been astonishing. As a result the Hunter Valley powerhouse, Vinery Stud, then purchased MOSSMAN off his original owner and has now given him the large quality books of mares. Chris began his career in his hometown of Foxton, New Zealand where he worked as Head Foreman for trainer, Paddy Busuttin. Here Chris had a close association with their stable veteran CASTLETOWN who ran 3rd in the 1992 Melbourne Cup behind SUBZERO. Chris eventually took over Paddy's stables when the trainer took up a Singapore training contract in 1997. He was an outstanding success and trained an endless list of winners including many stakes winners.

Chris decided his future lay in Australia so he relocated to Rosehill in 2000 and basically started again. He started with a modest team of 4 horses and again he was an instant success and has since charged up the trainer's premiership table. In fact Chris has one of the best Winners to Runners strike rate of any trainer in Australia.

Triple Crown now has several horses with Chris and we have found him to be an outstanding trainer with a great ability to know where to best place his horses for success and his communication is first class.
