Description

The Sire - O'REILLY
Champion New Zealand sire of 45 stakes-winners including Group One winners Master O'Reilly, Swick, Alamosa, The Jewel, etc, with a stunning 70% winners to runners.
Sire of current Australian stakes-winners Shamrocker (Group Two VRC Sires Produce Stakes), Vigor (Group Two VRC Makybe Diva Stakes) and Escadaire.
Brilliant Group One winning sprinter/miler by Last Tycoon (IRE) from Golden Slipper winner Courtza that has emerged as a versatile sire of stayers and sprinters that can train on.

The Dam - DANNY'S DAUGHTER
First foal of Danny's Daughter, a winning Danasinga mare from tough stakes-winner Gypsy's Daughter, a Listed winner of seven races up to 2200 metres.
Bred on the reverse Danehill x Last Tycoon cross that produced runaway Queensland Derby winner Dariana, who is by Redoute's Choice from a mare by Last Tycoon.
From a tough New Zealand staying family featuring stakes-winners Kiss 'n a Shilling, Joal and Space Age.
In the past two years there have only been eight horses race in Australia by O'Reilly out of mares by Danasinga. Seven are winners.

The Trainer - ROBERT SMERDON
Robert Smerdon is well established among Australia's very best trainers and needs no introduction.
Robert was impressed by this filly at the sale and when Racenet Bloodstock bought her he requested to be the trainer. That was good enough for us.
Importantly he has the ideal operation for this type of filly.

Robert's main base is at Caulfield in Melbourne, but has a satellite stable in rural Ballarat which boasts one of the biggest tracks in Victoria.
They are the perfect surrounds for giving an up and coming stayer lots of long steady work in a relaxed environment, up hills and on roomy tracks.
This filly is perfectly placed to get every chance to realise her potential.

The Horse
Racenet Bloodstock has a clear selection process to ensure only athletic, sound and suitably bred horses are offered under our name:

The catalogue is inspected to cull any horses which are obviously unsuitable based on pedigree. This is done very leniently so leaves a large list of horses to be inspected physically at the sale.
All horses which remain, always several hundred, are inspected at the sale to meet minimum physical requirements we consider important.
This creates our initial shortlist of candidates.
That list is then assessed on pedigree and is shortened again.
Those left are given another much more thorough physical inspection and assessment with more culled.
The remaining lots are given a thorough veterinary inspection.
Horses that have passed through that process successfully are given one more final check and become candidates for purchase in the knowledge we are more than happy to put the Racenet name to them.
This filly grabbed our attention as soon as she stepped out of the box.
Firstly she's big. And balanced. Everything about her is impressive.
Pretty she's not. Dainty she's not. She is the classic tough kiwi staying type. Most noticeably she has a huge girth, loads of room for a big strong heart and set of lungs. She has a big strong hindquarter that gets even more impressive when one views her from the rear. See for yourself. There's power aplenty.

She has a beautifully long rein to provide balance, and excellent bone in her legs to withstand the rigours of racing. Have a close look here.

And when she walks she has the long, swaggering, athletic stride all the good stayers possess.

Can you tell we like her?

And importantly she is particularly well grown already.

As an early season foal (she was born in August), she is not a backward type that will need to spend long periods in the paddock while we gamble on Mother Nature to provide an intangible result.

We have the well grown individual already. Now she will be managed through her two year-old year with constant work, rest and education to have her seasoned and ready for when the races become available to see her to full advantage.

If you're considering buying, please contact us and we'll take you to see her. She has already been broken-in and is currently at Bella Lodge, an hour north of Sydney near Wyong. She'll shortly be sent to Victoria however to join Robert's stable so be quick if you're NSW based.

The New Zealand Factor

The NZ breds have dominated the Australian staying races for generations.

In the last season alone NZ bred horses have won the Cox Plate (So You Think), Spring Champion Stks and Victoria Derby (Monaco Consul), Sydney Cup (Jessicabeel), Doncaster (Rangirangdoo), Rosehill Guineas (Zabrasive), Qld Oaks (Miss Keepsake) and plenty more including with the likes of Efficient and Metal Bender.
