Gee Mick Price is a good trainer. If you take a look at the National trainers stats at at March 29th, MICK PRICE stands out as one of only three trainers who have trained over 50 or more winners this season, and also has a winning strike rate close to over the 20% mark.

The other two are the training juggernauts that are Peter Moody and Gai Waterhouse. They have a winning strike rate of 22.4% and 21.1% respectively, and Mick is right on their tail (with a smaller team) at 19.1%. Whilst Moody has had 572 runners and Gai has had 484 runners so far this season, Mick has done it with just 393 runners. Scenic is the sire of Scenic Blast, Viewed, Marasco, Scenic Shot, etc, and hails from a speed dominated female line that produced the unbeaten 2YO colt Rancher - Winner of the Blue Diamond.

Due Sasso had 8 starts, 7 at stakes level. 6 times in the first 4 including a win in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude defeating horses of the calibre of Gr1 performers Nadeem, Wonderful World and Kaphero.

He's kicked off his career with very good support with a substantial and quality band of broodmares. His first winner came on New Years Day 2011 when his daughter Kemilee won the first 2yo race of 2011!

Monarquia was selected as a well credentialled yearling by Gai Waterhouse. An injury early in her career led to retirement after just one start and this colt is the first of her progeny...
