HUSSON is a Group 1 winning son of successful stallion HUSSONET. After standing for one year in South American, he started his Australian stud career at Patinack Farm. Despite receiving little support from outside mares, he finished his first season as Australia's leading first season sire (by winners and stakes winners) with 11 individual first crop two-year-old winners highlighted by the talented filly HUSSOUSA.


HUSSOUSA won the Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on debut and was then 3rd behind subsequent Group 1 winner DRIEFONTEIN in the Listed Widden Stakes. She then ran into PIERRO when second in the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes and then second again, this time behind Blue Diamond Stakes winner SAMAREADY, in the Group 2 Riesling Stakes before her career was ended prematurely after just four starts due to injury.


Since his first crop, he has continued to produce quality racehorses from a moderate group of mares. As at 21 July 2015 21 of his 222 runners had either won or placed at stakes level highlighted by Group 1 winning sprinter LUCKY HUSSLER who won the William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley in the autumn after previously running second in the Group 1 Emirates Stakes (1600m) in the Spring. LUCKY HUSSLER has now won 6 races and has earned $900,000 for connections.


BRAMBLING was a $300,000 purchase by Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm at the 2010 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, with the intention of being a key part of his Patinack Farm breeding empire which had just exploded onto the scene. She appeared at the races just twice before being rushed off to Stud as a three year old.


Her first foal (also by Husson) is an unraced 2yo colt named DEEP CHARTREUSE. It is in training with Michael Lakey in Queensland and ran 3rd in its only official barrier trial at Deagon in April 2015. This filly is BRAMBLING'S second foal.


BRAMBLING is a daughter of Champion Stallion REDOUTE'S CHOICE and Group 1 winner, BRAMBLE ROSE. BRAMBLE ROSE won the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) and was three times placed at Group 2 level in New Zealand before stepping over the Tasman to tackle Australia's best staying fillies in the Sydney autumn. She finished 2nd in the Group 1 Arrowfield Stud Stakes (2000m) behind SHOWER OF ROSES and was then 3rd in the Group 1 AJC Australian Oaks (2400m) behind SUNDAY JOY and SHOWER OF ROSES. BRAMBLE ROSE was named Champion NZ 3yo Stayer and NZ Bloodstock Filly of the Year in 2002/03.


BRAMBLE ROSE has produced four winners including the stakes winning gelding MAULES CREEK (a full brother to BRAMBLING). Her immediate female family includes the Group 1 winner THE FILBERT, and Group winners LADY CHAPARRAL and RED HAWK.


There is a total of 5 5 individual stakes winners (4 at Group level) and 17 individual winners from just 27 runners which descend from this fillies fourth dam FAUXZANN.


REDOUTE'S CHOICE has been Australia's Champion Sire three times and he is clearly Australia's most dominant stallion since his iconic sire DANEHILL.


REDOUTE'S CHOICE has sired an incredible 27 individual Group 1 winners amongst his 123 individual stakes winners, with his progeny earnings now in excess of $115 million.


He is now making a name for himself as an excellent broodmare sire, his daughters have already produced over 330 winners with 35 individual stakes winners (6.2% stakes winners to runners) which compares favourably to the 5.6% stakes winners to runners of his legendary father.


REDOUTE'S CHOICE daughters have produced the Group 1 winners SACRED FALLS, ZOUSTAR and PASADENA GIRL and 14 other individual Group winners including the Lindsay Park trained WAWAIL.


THE CROSS WORKS! A++ TRUENICKS


HUSSON has worked incredibly well when mates with REDOUTE'S CHOICE mares. The first six runners on this cross have all been winners, and four of those are stakes performers including HUSSOUSA, AFFABLE and the Group 1 Queensland Oaks placed SISTER SOUSS.


Whilst the 6 runners bred on this above cross is a very small sample size it is clear that the mixture of HUSSONET (sire of HUSSON) and REDOUTE'S CHOICE blood has been incredibly successful.


HUSSONET over REDOUTE'S CHOICE mares has resulted in 25 runners, 20 winners, 4 stakes winners, 2 stakes placed (16% stakes winners to runners) and conversely REDOUTE'S CHOICE over HUSSONET mares has produced three Group performers from just 6 runners including Group 1 winner MAJMU, Group 3 winner PANZER DIVISION and Group placed REGATTA REBEL.


This filly completed her breaking in on 1 August and is due to resume training in late September.
