Beasley fails to gain Singapore licence

Tuesday 25 November 2014, 12:51pm

Australian jockey Danny Beasley is considering his future after the Singapore Turf Club's shock announcement he will not be re-licensed.

Beasley, who has been in Singapore for seven years and is second on the 2014 premiership table with 76 winners, says he has not been given a reason why his licence has not been renewed.

"I was informed by the stewards I wasn't going to be re-licensed," Beasley told AAP.

"It all hasn't sunk in yet and I'm not sure what my future holds at this stage.

"There's three weeks still to go in the season and I just want to keep riding winners."

Beasley, 39, began his career as an apprentice in Wagga and enjoyed the biggest successes of his career so far in Sydney in the early 2000s.

He won the 2003 Golden Slipper on Polar Success and also enjoyed victories at the highest level on juvenile filly Victory Vein.

The best horse he has ridden is Grand Armee who he partnered to six of his seven Group One wins including two Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

While Beasley will not be riding in Singapore in 2015, the club has confirmed licences for Australian jockeys Corey Brown, Craig Newitt, Michael Rodd and John Powell.
