Racing Victoria Stewards are continuing their investigations into confirmed positive findings of cobalt in two horses trained in partnership by Lee and Shannon Hope.
Racing Analytical Services Limited (RASL) have provided stewards with a report confirming Windy Citi Bear and Best Suggestion have tested positive to cobalt in pre-race urine samples.
Windy Citi Bear returned its positive from a Geelong race on June 25 while Best Suggestion tested positive from Caulfield on July 5.
RASL reported the pre-race urine samples contained cobalt at a concentration in excess of 200 micrograms per litre in urine, making it a prohibited substance under Victoria's local rules of racing.
Cobalt is an essential mineral nutrient which affects multiple body systems and is toxic in high doses.
