No Secret about her Agenda

Saturday 13 December 2014, 11:22am

Well Mick Price was not wrong when interviewed by Betfair yesterday about the 2YO filly, SECRET AGENDA. It was an impressive night for Blueblood Thoroughbreds and its syndicate owners with the Mick Price trained Not A Single Doubt filly, Secret Agenda, winning her maiden in the first at Moonee Valley tonight.

Ridden by Damien Oliver, Secret Agenda was sent out favourite and led throughout to come home and win by three and a half lengths over 1000 metres.

A $120,000 Magic Millions purchase for Blueblood Thoroughbreds from the Arrowfield Stud draft, Secret Agenda is a three-quarter sister to Group III placed Sweetener and is the fourth winner from four foals to race for well bred mare Negotiate.

An unraced half-sister by Red Ransom (USA) to stakes-winner Fleet from Group I winner Euphoria, Negotiate has a yearling colt by Smart Missile that will also be offered at Magic Millions next year.

Oliver was impressed with the dashing bay filly and commented, "that was very impressive.” "I had to use her up a little bit to hold the lead. Dwayne (Dunn) came across and I didn’t want to hand it (lead) up so I kicked on to hold it. She quickened up really well coming to the turn and I knew it was going to take a good horse to beat her. She won like a really good horse, it was a good win and she’s going places.”

Blueblood’s Racing Manager, David Mourad, was at Moonee Valley this evening amongst many of Secret Agenda’s owners. Here’s what David had to say to one of TVN’s icons, Richo (Jason Richardson).

“This is her first preparation and she’s done a massive effort to do this so far, so a trip up to the Gold Coast might be too much for her,” Mourad said.

“But we’ll leave it up to Mick and see where we head from here. It’s a good problem to have.”

Mourad, who is part of the Blueblood Thoroughbreds whose colours jockey Damien Oliver wore in the victory, said Price had suggested from early on that Sacred Agenda was Stakes-class and she showed why.

The filly will now head out for a freshen up and will return shortly to the track to contend the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes in 2015.
