So You Think's sire High Chaparral has died in Ireland at the age of 15.
Coolmore Stud said High Chaparral, who recently returned to Ireland after the Australian breeding season, was euthanised when he was found to have a perforated intestine during exploratory colic surgery.
A son of Sadler's Wells, High Chaparral won the 2002 Epsom/Irish Derby double and claimed consecutive wins in the Breeders' Cup Turf.
As well as 10-time Group One winner So You Think, High Chaparral's southern hemisphere crops include It's A Dundeel, Shoot Out and Descarado.
Stars of his Irish stud career include Wigmore Hall, Redwood, Western Hymn and High Jinx.
High Chaparral's original southern hemisphere home was at New Zealand's Windsor Park Stud where he produced So You Think in his first crop.
So You Think won five Australian Group One races including the 2009 and 2010 Cox Plates in the care of Bart Cummings.
He won another five times at the highest level in Europe for Coolmore and trainer Aidan O'Brien.
So You Think is now part of the Coolmore roster in Australia and Ireland while It's A Dundeel stands at Arrowfield.
