Damian Browne knows first hand how hard it is to get past his Magic Millions Guineas mount Tales of Fashion.
He will have his first ride on the filly, taking over from Robbie Fradd in the $1 million race at the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Browne was aboard the Kris Lees's trained Savoureux when she beat Tales of Fashion by a nose in the Mode Stakes on December 6.
"Tales of Fashion had to do a lot of early work and I only just got her down. It was a great run by Tales of Fashion that day and I think she is a real chance in the Guineas," Browne said.
"She seems to have drawn the ideal alley and we should be handy. She also appears to handle soft tracks."
Tales of Fashion has had one run since the Mode when she finished fifth in the Vo Rogue Plate after being checked by the eventual winner Mywayorthehighway.
Jockey Dan Griffin, on Mywayorthehighway, was suspended for causing interference to Tales of Fashion at the 200m.
Tales of Fashion has won two of her seven starts but trainer Trevor Bailey is adamant she could be unbeaten.
"Rarely has one horse had so much bad luck. Last start was just a continuation of it," Bailey said.
Griffin will ride Mywayorthehighway on a stay of proceedings after appealing his suspension.
Mywayorthehighway's trainer Mick Mair has been recovering from a minor stroke but has been overseeing the filly's final preparation.
"Mick was at the hospital on Wednesday for a check up but he is a lot better and a win on Saturday would certainly be a boost," Mair's long time client and friend Neville Bell said.
