Powerful owners Al Shaqab Racing have added Breeders' Cup Classic runner-up Toast Of New York to their star-studded roster.
The high-class four-year-old will remain in training with Jamie Osborne, but will in future be ridden by Al Shaqab's retained jockey, Frankie Dettori.
Jamie Spencer had been Toast Of New York's regular pilot, having been at the helm at both the Breeders' Cup meeting in November and Meydan last March when the horse won the UAE Derby.
Formerly owned by Michael Buckley, his first big-race target under the Al Shaqab Racing banner will be the Dubai World Cup at Meydan on March 28.
"We are very excited by it, and hopefully he makes it to the (Dubai) World Cup," racing manager Harry Herbert said.
"He's a hell of a horse, ability wise, but, physically, he's also a beautiful horse.
"He will still be trained by Jamie who has been very careful with him and has made sure he has not overdone it with the horse.
"Hopefully his season will be bookended by the World Cup and the Breeders' Cup.
"What he does in between has still to be discussed.
"It's obviously disappointing for Jamie but Frankie is our man, and his experience in big races is second to none."
