The Blue Diamond credentials of early favourite Fontiton go on show at Sandown on Monday when the smart filly makes her return to the races.
The Robert Smerdon-trained two-year-old steps out in the Blue Diamond Preview for fillies over 1000m for her first start since scoring a six-length win on debut at Moonee Valley in October.
Fontiton will face 15 rivals in Monday's Group Three race and has drawn well in barrier five.
To be ridden by Mark Zahra, Fontiton has to give weight to all her rivals under the set weights plus penalties conditions of the Preview.
Godolphin trainer John O'Shea has entered Promenades and Pursuits to make their first race appearances in the $150,000 race against Fontiton, while Godolphin will be represented by Mesa and Demonstrate in the Blue Diamond Preview for colts and geldings on the same program.
Mesa finished a close third on debut in the Merson Cooper Stakes in the spring at Sandown and won a barrier trial at the venue last Tuesday week in preparation for the Preview.
The Listed colts and geldings Preview has a field of 12.
The Group One Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) is at Caulfield on February 28 and Fontiton holds favouritism at $4.40 for that feature.
