There will be at least 10 races on next week's Doomben card after Saturday's meeting was abandoned because of rain.

Chief steward Alan Reardon inspected the track at 5.30am and immediately declared it unsafe for racing.

"The track has copped more than 130 millimetres of rain in a day and it started to shower again while we were there. It just wasn't possible to race," Reardon said.

Racing Queensland chief executive Darren Condon said two races would be transferred to the Doomben meeting next Saturday.

"The Listed Nudgee Quality and the two-year-old fillies race will both be run next Saturday," he said.

"We will also look at the number of nominations for next Saturday when deciding about other extra races."

Condon said extra races would also be added to the Ipswich and Gold Coast meetings next week.

Ipswich was abandoned on Friday as was Saturday's Gold Coast meeting.

The wash-outs have cost the Queensland racing industry about $10 million in turnover and $750,000 in prize money distribution.

The Summer Cup meeting at the Sunshine Coast on Monday is expected to go ahead.
