Track rider Lizz Rice has died from injuries she received in an accident at Caulfield earlier this month.

She had been in an induced coma since she was found unconscious on January 12 with head and chest injuries near the pool at Caulfield.

On Thursday members of her family, who travelled from England to be at her bedside, were told there would not be any improvement in her condition and the decision was made to withdraw her medication.

The 26-year-old, who worked for Aquanita Racing, died on Saturday.

Racing Victoria said the Melbourne Racing Club was working with Worksafe in its investigation into the incident.

"The thoughts and prayers of all within the riding community are with the family and friends of Lizz upon the news of her tragic passing," Des O'Keeffe of the Victorian Jockeys Association said.

"We'd also like to acknowledge the great support afforded by Aquanita Racing, in particular Peter Oliver and Stuart Webb, during this incredibly tough time for the Rice family."
